Meet Preeti
Preeti’s journey from a child labourer to a changemaker!
Terrible economic conditions at home forced Preeti* (8) to collect wood and waste from forests to earn a penny. She had never stepped into a school. Whenever Preeti saw a school-going girl, she secretly wished it could be her too, but it seemed a distant dream.
*Name changed to protect the identity of the minor.
With Your Help
The Educate Girls team met her and managed to convince Preeti’s family to enrol her in Grade 1, for a better life! Now that Preeti is in school, she never misses a day of school and aspires to become a Police Officer.
Preeti is the first girl in her community to attend school and has inspired many girls in her community to go to school.
